A fine 19th Century French Louis XV Rococo style giltwood wall mounted console having the original Rouge Royal marble top above a giltwood frame with rounded corners, circa 1890s. Featuring an intricately carved frieze with a central shell and foliate motifs, this beautiful console is raised on elegant cabriole legs adorned with richly carved acanthus leaves ending in scrolled French toes. The legs are joined by a striking curved stretcher with a shell and foliate design. All original gilt with red oxidation showing through the beautiful water gilded patina.
